Back in January of this year Shanice contacted me about doing a Pooch Portrait Session of her two breeding dogs and their pups; a family portrait. This would mean getting together 2 adult dogs and their 5 pups; who are of course scattered over the country.
Trying to organise that many people to be in the same place at the same time can sometimes be a little difficult; but somehow the first date we looked at worked – magic!
We had Axle; from the previous session in Nov 2016; his partner in crime Faze and their pups. Jager (who Shanice and Steffen have kept), Tannah (who is owned by Shanice’s Mum; also in Taranaki), Bella (owned by Clint and Tania from Hamilton) and Vader (owned by Dion & Kat from Wellington). Sadly we couldn’t get the fifth pup in on the session; but we had a pretty good selection here!
This was organised as a surprise for the other pup owners and was paid for completely by Shanice and Steffen – their generosity completely blew me away!
As you can imagine; trying to organise 6 dogs all together in one shot was slightly challenging; we nearly got everyone together for the one shot; but in the end got some individuals of them all sitting around the same area so I could merge all photos together in post-production.
As well as the group shot I also had the pleasure of doing individual sessions of each pup; Tannah, Bella, Vader and Jager; as well as Faze (mumma dog), and another of Shanice’s Mums dogs – Tuk.
All in all we ended having a blast of an afternoon and some amazing shots to add to the collection.
