So for this blog I thought I would educate you on #howitallworks.
I know a lot of you sit on the sidelines wondering where to start or what to do if you'd like to book in a shoot.
You wonder if your dog will behave enough. You think your dog is way to active to get any still images. You think it'll take SO much longer than the half hour or hour session. Or maybe your dog doesn't go off lead at parks and you think theres just no way you could let him off even for a second to get a quick shot... well. Im here to tell you none of that matters.
Everyone thinks their dog is THE worst! Through the shoot you are thinking 'oh my god; he is SO much better behaved at home'. But it doesn't matter. I dont mind how energetic or crazy your dog seems on the day; there is ALWAYS a way to get some photos in. I understand that these things generally never go quite as planned.
You would be surprised at what we can fit in in the half hour! I am super patient and really dont mind if for 20 minutes its crazyness but the last 10 are filled with amazing images.
Even if your dog doesn't go off lead; this doesn't matter either. We can leave your pooch on lead and I can take the lead out in post production. Its as easy as that.
Once you've decided 'yes my pooch deserves some professional images' then all you need to do is flick me a message; either via Facebook, my Website or email. Ill flick you back some date and time options available for you to choose from.
Once thats all chosen I will send through a booking form to your email address. This is just a little questionnaire about you and your pooch so that I can be better prepared for the day.
Youll next get a confirmation email and then a reminder email closer to the time.
We then meet on the designated time and date and boom! Session is on!
We will go for a wander around the park. Let your dog have a sniff around and get familiar with me and the area (if hes not already) and then magic happens and I create some precious memories and images for you.
Youll get to see a sneak peek on Facebook within 48hours; and you also have the option of opting out of this if it is for a present etc.
Then within a weeks time you'll get a selection of images to choose from via email. These are all numbered so you can easily let me know which ones youd like to go with; and there is the option of purchasing more than your original required amount.
Once chosen; Ill pop them onto a USB and send them out to you via snail mail.
Easy as that!
Of course if you have any questions throughout any part of the process you can just ask; Im only a message away. :)
Well we are now right into 2017 and it is looking bright!
Most people are back to work now and the traffic on the roads is getting back to its norm.
I have my first shoot of the year on Wenesday and I can wait; 3 beautiful Border Collies!
But before I get blogging about all the new shoots that will be happening this year I thought Id look back on one other from 2016.
Baxta the beautiful Boxer.
Baxtas human Aunty (his owners sister) contacted me about doing a photoshoot of her brothers dog as a Xmas present.
The images couldnt go on Facebook or anywhere else as he wasn't allowed to know until he had his present in hand.
I met with Baxta's human Mumma one gorgeous day in October at Papamoa and Baxta smashed his shoot out like he was a PRO!
He sat like a pro, ran with his ball like a pro, looked up at me like a pro; and was just generally very pro-like.
I gave his Aunty and Mumma a whooooole selection of photos to choose from and they loved them so much; they didnt know which to choose so got them all.
Sadly; Baxta has been diagnosed with Cancer; which is one of the reasons they got these images taken.
Amazingly Baxta doesn't seem ill; and still has that lovely playful sense about him!
Although it is always sad to think about and we hate to admit it; but generally we do out live our best friends. The ones who are always there when we need them, who you can tell any secret to and they wont tell a soul; our best friends that love us unconditionally.
And although a terribly morbid reason to get professional images taken of your pooch; I would hate for it to ever be too late.
Even if you don't get some professionaly taken; please make sure there are some on an actual camera. Your best friend deserves so much more than the low resolution images from your phone.
Well... its 2017!!
I can't quite believe it! We made it another year people and lets make this one THEE YEAR!
Its going to be YOUR YEAR and MY Year and that person over there's YEAR!
I am ready to rock the crap outta this year; but first; lets take a look back at one of the last photo shoots of 2016...
Scooter - the rather blind but insanely cute Pug-zu!
Paula (his human mumma) met with me on a Saturday in December at the beautiful location of Lake Te Ko Utu in Cambridge.
She had advised me he was rather blind but that he still loved life and she just kept an extra eye on him in new places; but she doesn't like to be too overprotective.
When we met she advised he had an idea for some photos that she was keen on.. she had bought a little hoodie for Scooter and wanted to try and capture that 'Pug Life' look...
We hadn't discussed this before the day; so it was not expected but it excited me to have the challenge!
With the hoodie on and in Black and White this is one of my favourite shots of Scooter showing off his #puglife look!
Even with his lacking vision it is also super awesome that Scooter is still able to play his favourite game in the world; Fetch!
Massive thanks to Paula and Scooter for such an enjoyable photo shoot!
Definitely one of my favourite photo shoots to date!
